Isabel's enthusiastic support of 99s and participation in a wide field of aviation activities is irreplaceable. A valued member of the Rockcliffe Flying Club, Isabel obtained her licence in 1966. The Pepplers used their succession of aircraft to travel extensively in North America, excursions which Isabel dearly loved.

Isabel had filled all Chapter and Section offices with cheerful efficiency. In her capacity as Governor and other 99s posts and as wife of former C.O.P.A. (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association) Executive Director, Bill, she graciously entertained an impressive catalogue of aviation's greats. It was at Isabel's suggestion that the Ninety-Nines Canadian Award In Aviation was instituted.

For over a third of a century, she published Canada's most widely-used aviation manual, FROM THE GROUND UP.

Her wide community involvement included work with the May Court Convalescent Home in Ottawa, The I.O.D.E. (similar to D.A.R.), a local service club, Home and School executive and the Advisory Committee to the National Aviation Museum.

Her widespread business and organizational skills were simply outstanding. Isabel's never-intrusive advice, frequently sought and always tactfully given, was an invaluable asset to the 99s. At our most recent Eastern Ontario Chapter Christmas party, we gathered round the piano to sing carols. Isabel's gorgeous voice revealed yet another facet of this multi-talented but ever-so modest pilot.

For those of us fortunate to have known Isabel, the life this truly Renaissance woman has been a gift. She also leaves the legacy of her three children, Carla, Rand and Graeme and husband of 39 years, Bil..
