The 99s are involved in numerous types of aerospace education aimed at youth:
We offer Flying Companion Seminars for adults - these seminars are designed to help right seat passengers feel comfortable in the cockpit. Subjects covered in the course include learning about radios, charts, weather, medical qualifications, etc. Other sessions include "Fear of Flying" seminars, Safety Seminars, recurrency seminars. The Eastern Ontario Chapter introduced a "Fly 99 girls" program in 1999, with an objective of taking 99 girls aged 9 to 14 flying. Due to its popularity, this program is offered occasionally. This flight was combined with a ground school session. Operation Skywatch involves flying and the environment, and encourages members to keep up aviation refresh courses. 99s' Aerospace Education programmes continue to evolve in importance and scope. To help meet today's needs to educate the non-flying public of the impact of aviation and space on our daily lives and to encourage your interest and participation in aviation, we advocate those proverbial maths and sciences and a full spectrum of interests be incorporated in today's students. |
