The weekend was a lot of fun, combining the AGM with the Gold Cup Air Rally, which boasted 8 aircraft taking off from St-Hubert airport on Sunday June 15, 2008. The weekend events included a Friday evening meet and Greet with registration; Saturday breakfast buffet followed by the AGM; afterwards many of the 99s spent the afternoon seeing the sights of Montreal on the "Bateau Mouche"; the evening banquet supper highlighted a presentation by keynote speaker, Mr. Larry Vance, Senior Investigator of Operations, TSB head office. Sunday was dedicated to the departure of the Gold Cup Rally participants from St-Hubert airport (CYHU). Media coverage by Radio Canada Television, live interview with Captain Suzanne Pettigrew about the Ninety-Nines Inc, the East Canada Section AGM and the Gold Cup Air Rally. The Montreal Chapter created and put into place a special program called "A Gift of Wings" (AKA "Dreams Take Flight"). This program enables children with disabilities to have the opportunity to take a one-hour flight! This program took place over 3 years, and was popular in the Montreal area.
