TRAILBLAZER ROBERTA TAYLOR TO BE HONOURED!
2011 Elsie MacGill Northern Lights Award Dinner

This year's honouree is Roberta Taylor of Victoria,
B.C. Roberta blazed the trail over 40 years ago as a commercial bush
pilot in northern Ontario. She has been an airline owner and operator,
air search and rescue pilot, ferry pilot, fire patrol pilot and chief
test pilot for the family aircraft maintenance shop in Cranbrook, B.C.
In addition, Roberta has been a Chatelaine magazine Woman of the Year,
a conference organizer for the first Canadian Women in Aviation
conference, founder of the Canadian Rockies Chapter of The
Ninety-Nines, Inc. as well as a Governor and International Director of
the 99s. She is currently a Senior Instructor in the Faculty of Human
and Social Development at the University of Victoria.
The Elsie MacGill Northern Lights Award was
established to recognize and celebrate the achievements of Canadian
women in aviation and aerospace.
